Twin Mattresses

As the smallest mattress size available in our line-up it is a classic go-to for kids and single sleepers or guest rooms, daybeds, and bunk beds.

Why You Should Choose a Twin Bed

A twin size mattress is one of the most popular sizes in the world, next to the Queen. It brings comfort and support to small spaces, kids or guest rooms. With hybrid, gel, and memory foam options, the Serta Twin-sized mattresses selection is extensive for a convenient online shopping experience. So whether you have a child that has outgrown their crib/toddler bed, multiple kiddos sharing a room, a very small sleep space, a bunk bed or a daybed frame, Serta has a twin bed option to fit your budget and lifestyle. But if you are still not convinced twin size is for you, see some of our frequently asked questions below.

What size is a twin mattress?

Approx. Dimensions: 38” x 74.5” / 2,831 sq in / 19.7 sq ft

Twin sizes are approximately 38” wide by 74.5” long, give or take a bit, which equates to approximately 2,831 square inches and 19.7 square feet.

What's the difference between twin xl and twin sizes?

A twin is approximately 5 inches shorter than a twin XL, they are the same width.

Can adults sleep on a twin bed?

Yes. Although it may feel too small for an adult to comfortably sleep on, therefore if space is an issue, we would recommend going with a Twin XL for an adult.

What size bed should come after a crib/toddler bed?

If your childs room is on the smaller side and they have outgrown their crib/toddler bed, we recommend the next step be a twin.

Who should sleep on twin size mattresses?

Standard twins are optimal for children and teens, especially those with limited bedroom space.

Should I buy a twin sized mattress online or in-store?

It all comes down to your personal preference. If you are an online shopper and love the convenience of buying and then receiving products right from the comfort of your own home, online is the way you should go. Also, Serta offers a 120 day in home trial plus free shipping. However, if you are someone that wants to try out the bed before you buy it and likes to talk through the product with a salesperson in real time, going to a mattress store might be the way you want to go.

Are twin beds also called single beds?

Yes, they are one in the same. They are just two different terms that describe the same mattress size.

Can I expedite my order?

We do not have an expedited delivery option at this time. Our site will provide the best delivery estimate at checkout.

Do you ship internationally?

Directly on our website, we only ship within the United States, to the lower 48 states. At this time we do not offer shipping to Alaska or Hawaii.

Do you offer financing?

Financing is available directly through our website. We have partnered with Affirm to offer financing or pay-over-time options for our customers. At checkout, you will be given the option to pay through Affirm. If approved, you will be given loan options for 3, 6, or 12 months. All interest is provided up front, there are no hidden fees, and only a soft credit check is done through Affirm's system for approval. After you've confirmed your choice, you will be redirected back to our website to complete checkout.

Affirm only requests a soft credit check for approval, so the credit inquiry won’t affect your credit score. Once you've selected your financing term, you will be redirected back to the website to complete your purchase.

For returns and cancellations, refunds will be processed through Affirm and posted to your Affirm account. Refunds will be processed within 3-10 business days. Keep in mind the interest charge will not be refunded.

Please note that financing through Affirm is not available in West Virginia and Iowa.

What is the difference between ordering from and another retailer?

When you place an order through, you are backed by the 120-Day In-Home Trial. We know ordering a mattress online can be intimidating, so we want to take the risk out of it for you with the in-home trial that allows the perfect amount of time to test the mattress and accessories in your home and make sure it's right for you. If you decide it is not the right fit, we make returns easy and free.

Serta products are sold at many different retailers through the United States. Our goal is to be able to serve our sleepers where they feel the most confident purchasing their Serta products. Many retailers will have products on display for sleepers to test out before making your decision, and may offer different pricing or promotional advantages for buying directly through a retailer. Retailers may also have different models than what you see directly on the website.

Regardless of where you purchase, you can be confident you are getting a quality Serta product.

Do you make custom sizes?

We are unable to provide custom sizes at this time. For now, we carry industry standard sizes of twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, and California king.
